No meeting this week - Food Bank Supermarket Collection
A reminder there is no Club Meeting this week as we will be collecting food items at the two South Dunedin Countdown supermarkets for local Food Banks. We still need one more person to help from 5pm-6pm at the newer Countdown by the Z Garage - please contact Cameron if you can assist.
Scottish Barbecue
Club members and friends were treated to excellent weather, a gifted young bagpiper and a unique address to the haggis in English by our own Ron Mackintosh at the Scottish themed barbecue at Woodhaugh Gardens last weekend. Many thanks to the Town & Country projects group for arranging this.
 
Notice of Annual General Meeting
All members are advised that the Rotary Club of Dunedin Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Thursday December 12th. Further details:
 
Date: Thursday 12th December 2019 at 12.15 for 12.30  
Venue: Cobb and Co Restaurant 
General Business:  Any general business must be notified to the Club Secretary by 5pm, Tuesday 10th December 2019.  
Business:  
* Apologies  
* Confirmation of minutes of previous Annual General Meeting  
* Matters arising  
* President’s Report on 2018/19 year  
* Presentation of Club Trust accounts  
* To receive and adopt the Annual Report and Financial Statements for the year ended 30 June 2019  
* Election of President for 2022/23  
* To consider any general business that may be legally brought before the meeting.
  
Note that, a quorum being present (one third of all members), a two thirds vote of all members present is required.  
Give a Coffee – a freshly roasted promotion & random acts of kindness club project!

Please give $5 for a coffee at your next lunch meeting*

Why: To help to raise the profile of Rotary Dunedin and make someone’s day

How: We will contact and ask selected cafe owners around town to be on board with this project. The funds raised will be used to buy coffees at these cafes. Cafes will  give away the coffees at random  to lucky café customers on the selected day of the promotion.  We will organise media publicity in advance, and on the day along with  information on café tables about what we do at Rotary to encourage people to think about joining the club.  

When: the free coffees will be offered to random customers at the selected cafes on a pre-determined day in Feb 2020. 

*Thanks to those who got the fund raiser started on 31 Oct. We will be fundraising throughout November until our Christmas meeting. Our target is $250 min.  Please ask your friends, associates, colleagues etc. to give a little too.

  1. Email your order to cher.forgeson@cobb.co.nz by5pm on Tuesday. Give your name, and specify that the order is for Thursday Rotary Lunch
  1. Pay for your meal when you arrive by cash or EFTPOS. If you cancel by 5pm Wednesday you will not have to pay.

  1. A range of coffees and teas are available to purchase at the restaurant.
  1. Remember to bring some change for Joker Jackpot and Sergeant’s Session.
