Members are encouraged to attend Thursday lunch meetings whenever they can. They are an opportunity for fellowship, to hear interesting speakers, and to catch up with our Club activities.

As we are now moving towards the production phase of the centenary publication, we are calling for good quality (sharp, in focus, high resolution) images of club activities from the past 25 years. Ideally the images you submit will have a descriptor, be dated, and have the names of the people featured in the image. If they are not digital, Katie can have them scanned during a Rotary meeting and returned to you immediately.
Think, fun activities, members being awarded for service, fellowship events, conference pics - anything that is engaging and demonstrates what we do best.
As part of the centennial publication, I am trying to faithfully capture Paul Harris Fellowships, either gained by members prior to 1998, who remained members within the last 25 period, or awarded by the club in that time. While I am confident I have recorded those with PHFs who are still in the club, resigned or died, I have less certainty about those who have moved to other clubs. Rotary Foundation records do not allow us access to other clubs' documents. This means that members with PHFs, who have left our club and joined another one, are lost to us. Through some sleuthing work, I have made contact with and/or established the status of the following; Bill Dunbar, Peter Haines, Stuart Heal, W John Henderson, John Leader, Steve Metzger and Clive Rennie.
I have tried contacting Derek Valentine, and through him I should be able to reach Ian Shore, but I may have an old address. I believe both joined the Wanaka Club. I would be pleased to receive contact details for them and any other member who left our club since 1998 and who has moved to another club. If you can help, please let me know.
Cheryl grew up on a sheep and crop farm in the middle of the Canterbury plains, spending more time than she cares to recall grubbing thistles, spraying barley grass and working the tractor. At thirteen she left home to attend boarding school at Rangi Ruru Girls' School in Christchurch and it was there that her Calculus teacher advised her to go see the Engineering School at Canterbury University because she’d be bored doing accounting.
After initially working in the energy sector, Cheryl specialised in I.T. which eventually led her to Animation Research Ltd and the field of virtual reality with applications as diverse as prisoner literacy and childrens medicine.
