Members are encouraged to attend Thursday lunch meetings whenever they can. They are an opportunity for fellowship, to hear interesting speakers, and to catch up with our Club activities.

Enter through the Cafe via the MIDDLE GLASS DOORS on the street, and go into the Cafe. We no longer require the in/out flow
Please show your 'My Vaccine Pass' and pay for your meal. Let staff know you pre-ordered and your name

Christmas Appeal
The Community Project Group is organising a Christmas gift appeal again this year. Donations will go to the Salvation Army’s clients. David McEwen naturally is well informed as to their needs and advises firstly that items, out of respect to the recipients, should be new. Soft toys are definitely not in need but gifts that are activity-based and help bring families together are especially good. Board games and books are most welcome as are vouchers for venues such Moana Pool, movie theatres, ten pin bowling, ice skating and similar. In lieu of gifts or vouchers, a cash donation would be
appreciated and the funds will be used to buy activity vouchers. Please bring any contributions you are able to make to our lunch time meetings on either December the 9th or the 16th.

This beer sales fundraiser is for our upcoming centenary celebrations, and supports education for Otago Polytechnic’s Brew School. Two styles are offered: "Hidden Number Pale Ale" and "Ultravox Vienna Lager".
Orders are to be placed with Mike Waddell (via email) by 10th December, with a delivery expected 16th December – just in time for your Christmas gifts. These are both excellent quality brews. This is a pre-cursor trial run for an expansion with branding and sales for our centenary project. More updates to this fundraiser are expected to follow in 2022. The Rotary Foundation is recognised as one of the largest, most impactful and well-managed charitable organisations in the world.
Rotary’s Endowment fund was created in 1917 to ensure that resources would always be available to do good in the world.
It is more important than ever to keep this sustaining resource secure. One way that you can assist with this is by remembering the Foundation in your Will.
If you are making or updating your Will, talk to your adviser about a bequest to "The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International"
N.B. Clubs with 100-percent member support of the Endowment are eligible to request a Rotary’s Promise Club electronic certificate.
Qualifying support may be a commitment for a future gift to The Rotary Foundation in an estate plan (or an outright gift of $1,000 USD or more to the Endowment).
Semi-Annual Dues: Semi-annual dues are based on recorded membership as at 31st December & 30th June respectively, and the Club is levied by Rotary International based on these numbers. This levy also includes a charge for your monthly magazine. Any changes to your membership status needs to be processed by Rotary International before 31st December or 30th June. To avoid the situation of the Club having to pay RI levies where a member retrospectively resigns, the Directors have agreed that Club semi-annuals will be invoiced in December for the January to July period and in June for the July to December period. It is hoped that the earlier invoicing will encourage members who are reviewing their Rotary involvement to reach a decision prior to the cut-off date, to avoid the Club incurring the cost
Dunedin Budget Advisory Service was established by Rotary in 1972.
They provide information, education, support and options to all people within the greater Dunedin area, seeking to empower them to manage their own finances. DBAS is interested in people joining the Governance Committee. If you are interested in this community service please speak to Cameron.

Orders are being taken for 2kg boxes (cost $40 with $8 going to club funds) to be delivered to Dunedin around Dec 21 - 23 depending on weather.
Lynne Guy will be coordinating orders which will be delivered to her office: NZSTA, Level 2, Public Trust Building, 442 Moray Pl, next to the AA Building and opposite First Church. You will be advised when orders are ready for pick-up.
