Members are encouraged to attend Thursday lunch meetings whenever they can. They are an opportunity for fellowship, to hear interesting speakers, and to catch up with our Club activities.

It is important that no members feel excluded from Club meetings or events because of these changes.

Order before 10am on Thursday and your order will be in the till under your name
Enter through the Cafe via the MIDDLE GLASS DOORS on the street, and go into the Cafe. We no longer require the in/out flow
Please show your 'My Vaccine Pass' and pay for your meal. Let staff know you pre-ordered and your name
Masks are optional

All emails received after 10am Thursday will not be viewed. Please call the cafe before 11:30am to change, cancel or place an order.

Wyn Chirnside
Sadly Wyn passed away on December 26th. Bill Thompson paid tribute on behalf of the Club at Wyns service:
"Wyn joined Rotary some 30 years and he was a valued & dedicated member. He was warded the PHF award some years ago. It is the highest award the club can give a member. He was a very valued T & C Committee member and always contributed to our endevours. He and Dorothy were always on our Safaris. The safari over the Buster to Otemamata was rather memorable. He had borrowed Grants's new Toyota Land Cruiser. It was returned with a big dent in the bottom of the fuel tank.
Wyn was one of the Characters of the Rotary Club. He always had plenty humour and was always quick with a friendly quip. Over the 30 yrs. I have known him his humour and banter was infectious and was responsible for the growth of our friendship. It is fair to say that the mutual respect grew from all the banter we exchanged.
He always had banter aimed at Dorothy. He would make some complaint aimed at her, saying that he now had all the extra things to do--or similar, and Dorothy would just laugh. They both knew that in his way he was expressing his love and respect for his wife.
Now a wee story. This happened on a visit to see Wyn & Dorothy prior to him going to Leslie Groves. He told me about the lovely blond Sweedish girl who showered him every morning. He did so with an almost straight face. He certainly knew how to make a fellow envious.
And Dorothy did neither confirm or deny.
Friends, we celebrate Wyn's life--the life of a good bloke--a good man-- a good citizen---a man of achievement.
I am proud to have called Wyn my friend."
