It doesn't hurt to stop and smell the roses occasionally and when last weeks scheduled speaker became unavailable President Fiona decided to keep the meeting as a "catch-up"
Firstly Gordon Tucker brought us up to date with the proposed redevelopment of Rotary Park (Centennial project) with Phase 1 scheduled to commence in early 2023. This comprises perimeter tracks, the upper park being suitable for walkers, runners, cyclists, prams and wheelchairs; and the lower park suitable for walkers, runners and cyclists.
President Fiona then briefed us on some of the other events happening in our area: Club BBQ, Blue Penguin tour,  Club Christmas Dinner, Charity auction, Bingo, Hospice Raffle, Car Boot Sale, and PolioPlus fundraising movie!

John Drummond then explained how his sharp eye saw an "Incognito Art Show"  used as a charity fundraiser in Australia and he suggested to the Directors at the time that it could work in "Artistic" Dunedin. They liked the idea and appointed a Project team. Brian Daniels continued the story of how the project was developed and (very successfully) implemented. The rest is history. 106 artworks were donated of which 71 sold on the night and one subsequently raising a net total of $9,879.00  In conclusion President Fiona presented Certificates of Appreciation to members of the project team. Note - of the unsold art, two have been donated as prizes in a future quiz night and the remainder will be displayed for sale at Orokonui.
