Stories
Last Weeks Speaker - Nicholas McBryde
(photo - Rick)
Nicholas began by defining the concept of "Theatre" in three different ways: 1. The bricks and mortar of the "venues"  2. The many and varied "recreational" groups involved in performing arts, and 3. The entertainment industry professional/career path. For the past four years since the demise of the Fortune Theatre  he has been developing a proposal "Waiting in the Wings" focused on the latter of these; and was critical of the reluctance of potential partners to listen to him. He also felt that the recent use of consultants concentrating on venues was a waste of money, and claimed to have fitted out a temporary theatre as an Arts Festival venue for $10,000
Volunteers Required
Last April the club ran a very successful Charity Auction and two of those auction items were 4 Rotarians for 4 hours. Andrew Wiley purchased both of these lots for $400 each. Now he is asking us to fulfill our obligation and deliver pamphlets for him.
Rotary has no political affiliations however FYI these pamphlets are on behalf of Team Dunedin. This event has been vetted by the Board of Directors.
Date 17th September - Saturday morning. Please contact Brian Daniels if you, family or friends are able to assist in this delivery. bdandcher@hotmail.com
