Meeting Attendance

Members are encouraged to attend Thursday lunch meetings whenever they can. They are an opportunity for fellowship, to hear interesting speakers, and to catch up with our Club activities.

Remember that if you are unable to join our lunch meetings in person, we can still provide a Zoom option. Please contact President Fiona for details of the link to use.

Meal Orders - Update

The café has noted that many of our Rotary members and guests are now ordering on arrival. This makes it difficult for them to manage staffing levels and keep up the level of service for us, as well as their other guests.

As a club, we appreciate the use of the venue facilities free of charge.

To maintain this it is appreciated if you would please remember to pre-order your food and drink from the lunch menu ahead of time!

Email orders will be accepted now up until 11am orders@thedishcafe.co.nz

Hit The Trail (The Wine Trail)

We are pleased to advise that the walking wine weekend in Cromwell is back! This year, it will be held on the 17^th to the 19^th of March in Cromwell. Mark your diaries now. This weekend is a heap of fun with good food, good wine, and good company. More details will follow but for now, please mark the dates in your diaries and if you’re keen to come along, please register your interest with Jonathan Usher jonathan@thisway.co.nz by Friday 17 February. Farewell 2022

We had a wonderful Christmas lunch at Salmond College as our final meeting for 2022.

The venue was beautifully decorated and the staff at Salmond College pulled out all stops from the service to the food, to ensure our get together was especially enjoyable. On top of this, everyone appreciated the talented six member Salvation Army Brass Band ensemble playing Christmas music and a short Christmas message from fellow member David McEwen.

We also sampled some mulled wine to appreciate some of the spicy flavours of Christmas as presented to us by Graham Eyres, a flavour scientist at the University of Otago. However, it was a proud moment when we were able to award a Paul Harris Fellow to David Ojala, for his excellent service to the club as our Trusts Administrator, and a Paul Harris Fellow +1 Sapphire Pin to Neil Lyons for his leadership and project management in particular, for the West Harbour Recreation Trail.

Welcome Euan Inglis

Euan was inducted by President Fiona at the club meeting held on December 8th. He will join the Youth Committee.

Euan began his working life in Carpentry but is better known in the Dunedin business world for owning a retail business (Flint Menswear) for 26 years, and as an Insurance Broker (recently retired).
He is a keen Mountain Biker and is friends with our members Peter Jackson, Neil Lyons and Malcolm Liddell, but what clinched the deal with club membership was when he noticed us while visiting the café!

The Community Projects group is holding a Quiz Night on Thursday 30 March so mark your diaries now! Meantime we are seeking suitable Raffle Prizes - regifted Christmas presents welcome!!
